"Snips and SNAILS and...

...that's what little boys are made of" right? right! So, I fear we may have reached the stage in Dominic's life where he starts to bring home new "friends" to live with us! You know the stage where when you empty your little boys (or girls) pockets at the end of the day you find, snakes, spiders, frogs, chewed gum, rocks, daddy's hammer and yes...SNAILS! Suddenly you are looking at your child thinking that they look exactly like Arliss, the little boy from "Old Yeller"? Well, yesterday when I went to pick him up he told me what fun he had been having "hunting" for snails. He explained how he went searching for them underneath the bushes and grass etc. and how he picked them up and put them in the turtle sand-box but some of them he "cracked" their shells..."oops, but that's ok mom cuz' it was just a little accident"! Ok, where do I begin??? Oh that's right, I begin by vomitting!! Not only did he pick up the ones that had a "protective cover" but then he broke 1 or 2 and all of the nasty slime was exposed!! I H-A-T-E snails and the thought of my sweet, little, clean (most of the time), adorable boy touching something so disgusting and really enjoying it, is really more than I can stomach! Plus, don't you worry that my gag reflex would NOT quit because I watched these fowl things slither around and as I am saying "don't even pretend to put your hands by your mouth" to my son, I remembered that people actually eat these slimey things!!! Seriously, I may vomit right now! I love my cousin Helen (for a number of reasons) because she had him put on some plastic "gloves" so that he wasn't actually touching them with his bare hands - thank you Helen! I felt bad for her because these snails gross her out too, but bless her heart she was trying to entertain him and you know boys - they are so curious about everything and have to find the most disgusting of all disgusting things to play with. She is a saint, I'm not so sure I would have been able to let him "hunt" for these at my house!! I realize this is just the beginning and there is much more fun to come, but I am telling you I have already purchased stock in hand-sanitizer, I practically bathed him strictly in Avagard last night! Eeeewwww!!

I did it!!

I am so freakin' proud of myself right now, I can't see straight!!! I have been trying F-O-R-E-V-E-R (probably since I started this stupid blogging thing) to get a really cute blog back-ground or at least change them periodically (as I see all my friends doing) and I couldn't figure the stupid thing out. Well today, my friends, I have done it - I have made fire!!! :) Now most of you might be thinking - "take it down a notch ya weird-o, it's not that hard". But for me...it is!! Anyway, that's all...I just wanted to share my excitement - ohhh, I just love it. P.S. don't be surprised if you see a new theme every single day - I am in love with this changing business. :) TTFN
